The International Development Week (IDW) is a Canada-wide event, spearheaded by Global Affairs Canada as an opportunity to highlight the work of Canada's development community and the work of Canada in international development. A number of post-secondary education institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and civil society organizations will participate in weeklong activities, taking place all over Canada. Humber College’s International Development Institute (IDI) in partnership with The Faculty of Business has organized IDW on campus with the purpose to engage the internal and external community on ID and inform IDI’s future activities.
IDW 2019 will consist of different events to bring about collaboration, awareness and knowledge generation. Some activities will be for the campus community only, and others will be open to the general public. Participants, will learn about the current issues surrounding international development. In addition, you will gain awareness of IDI and ways in which you can engage in international development at Humber College.
Internationalization is one of the key priorities for Humber College and a goal of the Internationalization strategy. Humber has been involved in international development projects for many years, and hosting IDW 2019 is one of the ways to support global engagement.
